For years I have complained about the absence of anything in a theatre program to indicate what year the play took place in and still they don’t include the year with the date. Fine when you’re in the theatre, but not years later when you’re looking at them.

25 years ago this last weekend, my dearest oldest friend Stephen Barry left us. He was not only a great director and theatre administrator but the best friend I ever had and I still miss his humour, kindness, and loyalty. I just wanted to see his name out there again and send love to his family.

Intrigued to see that House of Ghosts which I toured with playing Inspector Morse in 2010 is touring again this year. One of my favourite jobs ever. There was another stage tour in 2015 too with my friend Nigel Fairs playing Morse. So it’s odd they’re advertising it as the First Ever stage version!!
