My two best friends are both gooners. One of them is being lovely about the whole situation.

Any fule know the toast marketing board has let itself down. No mention of the thunderbox. Where is the forlorn hope. Books do furnish a room but only good ones. I'm sure I've heard that music before... I'm gonna go hide in my room of roots. And make some blue soup. My ruby, my pearl. M O O N.

There are some books that I'm shocked didn't make the cut. But I won't mention them yet.

There's a definite dearth of humour on the list. Which is, I think, a shame. And almost none of my favourite living writers made the cut. Funny or...not. And the lack of certain other genres is irritating too. But many of my fave books are there so I'm happy with that.

Disappointed that one book in particular wasn't there chizz chizz.

I've been talking about the winner a lot over the last few weeks because operation sort out the books revealed I own 6 copies and I refused to get rid of any of them cos they are all lovely editions.

Has anyone else noticed the Amazon algo going nuts? I just got a notification that they think I should buy energy drinks, based on my recent activity... my recent activity was buying two office chairs, some second hand books, and some hearing aid filters. I've never had an energy drink in my life.

This is how it used to be. Bank rings you, out of the blue. demands personal info. You? Say I think not and hang up. you call the bank ideally from a different line using the phone no. handily on their website. Issue resolved. How it is now? All that but no phone number visible on website. WTF

The celeb traitors line up is very unbalanced.

I had my second shingles jab yesterday afternoon and blimey Charlie I feel as sick as a dog that's very sick. Also my arm is killing me. I had a lot of plans for spring cleaning today. None will be actioned. Not a one. Unless things improve massively soon.

For all mankind has entered the traditional 'Oh no, wait, it's brilliant again! The set up episodes were worth it!" phase. It's about time. But when oh when are we gonna see Margot again.

Very nearly got dragged back into Eastenders today. Well. I did get dragged back. I watched it. But that's it I'm not weakening again. Nope. Probably.

When I look at insta all I see is endorsements for Eve Curls. WTF? Even River Song is plugging it. These are people with real curly hair and as such I know that they know what works can change from hour to hour let alone day to day. What's going on? And also does it in fact work?

Ok Apple, the thing is... you replaced almost all the good characters with horrible ones or dull ones. There's one person left to care about. One. That's really not enough. And FYI just setting something on Mars doesn't make it 'space'. The latest episode? could have been set in Stoke.

These days I reckon I've got a melancholy of everything. Also, never eat the figs.

Even after ruthlessly cutting my personal library, I still have enough books to last me til I die. I also have DVDs. Many. I don't need to consume any new entertainment product. The era of writers emotionally eviscerating their audiences just because they *can* is DONE as far as I'm concerned.

When something you've been following for more than *two decades* is being promoted *without even a mention* of the *main* character instead focussing on people who belong to other ranges.

I want to believe.

Anyway it's still the best programme currently on TV.

I think the people I know who watch FAM aren't caught up yet and this is annoying.

For all mankind was excellent, and I cried (but not at the bit they wanted people to cry, probably). I think they messed up a bit but whatever. It was still excellent. But they really should have done the thing.

I mean...I might be wrong... weren't most classic sci fi books aimed at men? Also procedurals and...war type books? Spy things? Was Bernard Cornwall not writing primarily for men before Sean Bean turned that on its head? Asimov? Ed McBain? And similar...? Steam punk... tons of stuff.

Something lovely to look forward to

So, Maul was good...I think. Not entirely easy to follow, episode 1 opened in the middle of the plot and there's too many car chases (or equivalent) but yeah, it was solidly entertaining once it got going. And Maul was as funny as ever. I'd probs recommend...1/2

Happy Maul day for those who celebrate (just me? Ok then...😳) One family member is already watching which is annoying but he predicted accurately that it's a bit early for me to be watching yet.
