When I wasn an angsty teen I wrote a lot of terrible poetry. I've been feeling an itch to revisit it, but poetry feels earnest and vulnerable in a way that writing doesn't. I can write anything and be like "its for the narrative" but poetry requires terrifying authenticity.

I did my fastest 5k in over a decade yesterday and I’m very impressed with myself 💅 I’m not a speed runner, I’ve never worked on it or aimed for it, I love distance, but it’s really cool to see my training paying off in surprising ways.

I just finished this book and it’s so good. It’s so validating to see myself represented in media. Rural and regional queer millennial stories are important. I hope this book serves as a reminder to city folk that being queer in the regions isn’t the same as in the cities and it’s still a struggle.

People are not taking the danger that One Nation poses in Australia seriously enough. We could very quickly live in a world where they’re the shadow cabinet.

Obviously terrifying but also it’s not believable, you want me to believe that one of my relatives would be both interested in what I’m saying and supportive? I mean if she’s not throwing homophobic slurs at me is she even my grandma?

This is my approach to writing. There will always be people who don't like what I do, and that's fine. I don't think I'll ever hit literary heights either, and that's not my aim. What I'm interested in is telling the stories I want to tell, in a way only I can. Someone out there needs that.

I finally got around to watching Bob Trevino Likes It. This movie absolutely devastated me in a way that I was not expecting and that very few movies ever have. This was fantastic and I think everyone should watch it. Barbie Ferreira and John Leguizamo had such undeniable chemistry.

I love that my text replacements sync across all my devices because while I rely on them pretty heavily I don't know if I'd have the patience to set them up on every device. Is this a feature other people use? I'd love to see some other peoples text replacements.

This might sound obvious to experienced designers but don't give proofs of things like business cards as just the business card itself. (same goes for logos) Its been a few years now since I started doing this and I get so much better feedback from client when I mock it up.

I don’t want to gatekeep queerness but in this case I’m going to. This is how it starts, the watering down of what queerness is. Is it just a vibe now? Is it a Hawaiian festive shirt? I’d love to know what the organisers were thinking.

I looked at joining the @qld.greens.org.au but by joining the party you have to agree to not criticise the party publicly and I don't love that idea. I think you should be able to be part of a party and still openly discuss policies/procedures that you disagree with.

I'd love to know how other web companies collect copy/content/photos from clients. Are there good systems for this? Have they built their own? I've seen it done really poorly and my process is fine but could be better but I've never seen it done really well.
