Silksong update: my shards were super low so I went with this wanderer build, going mostly needle only and staying away from using the clawline to conserve silk. My time in the flea festival was not for nothing after all

I have takes on game narrative as a craft, what I will say is we've come a long way and should celebrate what we do have - and it is mostly thanks to designers, writers and artists who respect the process *and* the people they work with. Games doesn't need Hollywood prestige. We are over it.

There's a sentiment that it's fine for adults to indulge their inner child - and things are great when you have disposable adult money to do that with. But well established fandoms kinda do this thing where they're so insular and fragmented they can become toxic. It's fine to have a "boring" hobby.

Been doing tests with Glaze lately and tried overlapping a subtle noise layer on top of my art before rendering it out. It does reduce the artifacts some as intended - I got a better result using colour halftones instead and now my anime illustrations look like magazine scans.

Really looking forward to a break, been going full tilt since late spring and haven't really stopped. Once I finish SIlksong I'm definitely playing some kinda cozy game that doesn't make my thumbs go numb

The biggest pain point about storyboarding for games is you are never given a scratch track, not even text to speech GPS type stuff so you have to read between the lines of a script, act out scenes mentally and draft multiple camera angles.
