My road has been partly closed due to Thames Water works. Cars can’t get through, but pedestrians and cyclists can. Already noticeable how much quieter it is. An #LTN would make this pleasant change permanent but the council is too cowardly.

This is how you build a network where anyone, of any age, can safely cycle from their home to school, shops, etc. Close the neighbourhood to through motor traffic and build protected cycle tracks on main roads at the boundaries. Every council should be doing this.
