I am going to continue to push back on "high skill migration" even if I am the last dead ender. The UK has a much more pressing shortage of low-skill labour than high-skill labour. We have people giving up jobs as magic circle lawyers to take care of their parents.

My parents both joined the police in the late 1970s. The stories they tell about how policing worked then are nuts. From the 1980s through to 2010 British policing was transformed massively for the better, and turned into a true professional career. We have undone far too much of that
