This afternoon, I've had the chance to cycle on the newly opened Phases 2B and 3A of Westfield Avenue. This marks a major milestone as part of the £12m investment will support walking and cycling to and from Stratford City.

While we didn’t win the Active and Inclusive Travel award at the London Cycling Campaign Awards this year, we were highly commended for our work in Newham. This recognition is a real validation of the fantastic work being delivered by London Borough of Newham officers.

Delighted to have attended Newham Council’s Royal Docks Corridor celebration. The event was a great example of how infrastructure projects can bring communities together—full of interactive activities, energy, and even some digger-tastic fun! 🚜

Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending and speaking at the official opening of the Royal Docks Corridor – a milestone moment for Newham, London, and everyone who walks, wheels, cycles, or simply enjoys safer, greener streets.

Pedestrianizing a main street spine in central Reykjavík was controversial with businesses when it was first done, so they made it a summer pilot. They kept it that way, a pilot, for over a decade, and then went ahead and made it year-round and permanent. No big deal. No controversy. People like it.

NEW: 1km of Montreal’s Ste-Catherine Street will become permanently “pedestrian only” (less than perfect term since it will be a people-place for a LOT more than walking). 225+ new trees, vegetation-covered pits for rain drainage, more seating, illuminated canopy, financial help for businesses, etc.
