I have really gotta get better at the marketing side of the gamedev business, but goddamn is it tough. Unlike the other parts this one really does feel like a skill I gotta build up from scratch.

most embarrassing thing in gamedev is when you're like "sure, MOST developers would do X... but I'm a trailblazer so I'm gonna do Y instead >:3" and then you try it and your testers come back with "yeah so I was having an issue where [perfectly describes a problem that would be solved by doing X]"

ironically, and it occurs to me that this has probably been true for many years now, desktop linux is probably easier to use the *less* familiar you are with computers…? so many instances of "sigh time to crawl up /etc/ and find the config file i need" would just be "huh! guess i can't do that =)"
