I don't remember the last time I did an April Fools bit because I just haven't had the energy, but my strategy in the past was to do something so obviously fake and bonkers but put a bunch of effort into it. Back when Stomp was a webcomic many years ago I announced I was rebooting it as a golf game

If I can be completely candid, this past month my mental health has been the worst it possibly has ever been. It's made it really difficult to work on Stomp, and I'm not sure when I'm going to be doing better.

Somehow ive ended up making another small region . But its in a completely different spot than the one talked about in this comic

I'm getting close to the milestone of having the first "draft" of Stomp's world done. It'll be entirely connected, though almost all the art and enemies will be missing. Individual rooms will need to be tested and refined, new secrets or shortcuts will be added, but... It's a pretty big milestone!

One thing I appreciate about having NOT watched Digital Circus when it first came out is I got to skip 2 and a half years of theorizing. I feel like every second discussion I've seen about the show has me feeling like . Wait are some of you actually watching the show

Stomp DOES seem to be pretty naturally agile and got the hang of using that magic sword pretty quickly, so it's definitely plausible!

Frogsong is a game where you play as a frog who's been aiming to be a warrior for years. Stomp is a game where you play as a guy who just picks up a magic sword he randomly found cuz it seems neat. Take a guess who's better at strategizing and thinking things through

The problem with the regions in Stomp that are on the surface is that its so much harder to make pretty atmospheric rooms when you cant go crazy with the lighting...

The more I ponder my idea for Potential Big Game 3, the more I start to think I might have to stray really, really far from what I'm used to when it comes to writing stories. That's both exciting and kind of scary!

One thing I wanted to improve upon since my last game was enemy variety, so I'm happy to say I have officially now made more enemies for Stomp than Frogsong had - and I'm only about a third of the way through!

I hate that the behaviour tree plugin I use for Godot is called LimboAI. Its a fantastic plugin but any time I post a screenshot of my editor I always feel like I've gotta explain its not some sort of chatgpt thing 😭
