It's sad that we started with almost everything being available on Crunchyroll with ads after a week, and by the end it was only enough shows to fill a paragraph. I never used ad-free Crunchyroll but I know people relied on it.

The Darkside Detective is a modern take on the old point and click adventure games we loved on the PC growing up. I really enjoyed my time with it and its dadjoke-like sense of humor too.

For what it's worth, even Okouchi (the original Code Geass writer) seems to appreciate that mix.

I am surprised they went ahead and decided to make a manga crossover between Code Geass and Gundam Wing, but then again...I assume the SRW games and kits have proved there's a demand. It's also from the same guy who did Wing's Glory of the Losers and one of the recently concluded Code Geass manga.

I'll also say this outright: I remember people criticizing Code Geass and various modern Gundam shows for the politics being cartoonish, but...uh, real life sure is constantly proving that too many living political leaders and the ultra-wealthy can be both juvenile manchildren and cartoonishly evil.

I always was in the awkward position of being a Code Geass R2 apologist when it came to thematic analysis and character arcs, especially in light of genre and approach, but I also totally understood why folks weren't so happy about how exactly things turned out in terms of certain plot devices.

F91 was released to theaters in an incomplete state, using TV-quality animation they had already made and missing many scenes. Later in the same year a "complete" edition was released to theaters, comprised of almost 100% redone animation. if you've seen F91 it was probably Complete Edition.
