🧵🎭Genuinely insightful take from a psychologist. I agree that there are features of certain characters that are, in some way, relatable enough that it’s easy to see ourself in them. Even if they’re tropey, and the characteristic might be 10% of who you are, that still matters.

I notice that there are a lot of times when I hold certain opinions, not necessarily because I feel strongly about a thing on a personal level, but because people I care about feel strongly about it. If it matters to them, it matters to me, because THEY matter to me.
