Talking about "Harris Being the first nominee since 1932 to not flip a county". you could argue Stevenson didn't in 1952. because the counties he did flipped were Thurmond 48 counties and Thurmond. Thurmond ran as a Dixiecrat that was technically a type of democrat.

It is very possible that republicans win all the four Tossup senate races on an otherwise bad election. In the scenario I am talking about democrats win the us house despite the gerrymandering in favor of republicans and the democrats gain at least four seats in both the PA house and the MC house.

Kind off staying on this topic I just notice Washtenaw county MI voted for McGovern 72, Ford in 76 and Carter in 1980. and that is a highly populated county, so that Is very notable and Eye popping.

I saw Chaz Nuttycomb compared Graham Platner to how Jay Jones won. the only problem with that Is that Collins has a way better electoral track record than Jason Miyares had before 2025. Jason Underperformed the Other republicans on the ballot in 2021. while Collins did 18% better than Trump in 2020

TBH I am glad Mr. Beats endorsed candidate lost by A landslide in Iowa 1. I lean towards his view on uncapping the house. But I don't like that that is his main focus and he is so abscessed with it. You can be supportive of uncapping the house but it should be priority number 100.

the most bizarre thing Lawler has said is "I only need the base" His district voted for Harris so even if he gets 2024 level turnout that still won't be enough. he is acting like he needs results that Van Epps got in his election but that is not true at all.

in a lot of state house districts in PA there were more votes cast in the dem primary than the GOP one the most surprising on was HD 57 where no dem has run for since 2018. Rob Francis(D) (@robfrancisforpa57.bsky.social) got 5249 votes and his opponent got 4481 votes. that was a Trump+22.4% district

We'll have a special election in Pennsylvania's #HD12 in August, a Trump+18 district north of Pittsburgh that did back Governor Shapiro in 2022 in his landslide statewide win. Given how much Pennsylvania Democrats have overperformed in specials, this will be one to watch.

Talking about unusual voters like that, I meant someone who voted for Shirley Chisholm in the primary in 1972 and voted for McGovern in the general election that year and then voted for Ford in 1976 and then vote for Carter in 1980.

I remember when someone asked "was Sherrod Browns dad the only Goldwater/McGovern voter in the whole country?" But there is a good chance that Harvey Milk and former Alaska governor Tony Knowles were as well. I know Harvey voted for both Goldwater and Carter. and Knowles supported Goldwater

because gerrymandering has been a huge topic recently I am going to bring up that in 1942 the house was So bias in favor of the democrats. they won the house with more then four to spare despite losing the popular vote by 4%
