Got my ADHD meds upped recently and accidentally hyperfocused on creating the ultimate Witchy Vibes playlist instead of, you know, being productive. Whoops. (In my defense, the playlist AMAZING and I have discovered some really great new artists making it.)

Poor little baby Bast has to be kenneled until her ringworm treatment is done (3-5 weeks!). Even with toys and some regular playtime, I know she's getting bored, so today I'm having her hang out next to me in the kitty carrier for a bit. She was unsure at first, but is now enjoying her new view.

The cat distribution system finally caught up with me! We found this little baby in our garage and have named her Bast. She's got ringworm so she has to be kenneled until her treatment is over, which she does not love. She is a sweet and docile little thing and otherwise very healthy.

Excited to announce that as of today, we have FOUR baby pumpkins on our pumpkin plant. I'm hoping at least two of them end up maturing properly by Halloween so we have one for each kid, although I'm sure they will still beg me for pumpkins every time we go to the grocery store.

I grew a few stalks of glass gem corn this year, just for fun, and oh my gosh they’re gorgeous!

One of my favorite parts of editing Little Looms is getting to come up with really cool themes for issues like Medieval-inspired, folk tales & fairy tales, and inspired by books. I have one coming up that's really fun and I am just chomping at the bit to put out the call for submissions.

So I was dating my now-husband who at that point was a geologist finishing up his MA. After hearing him rave about it, I took Hand Specimen Petrology which is science speak for "here's how you identify rocks!" It was a blast, and while I don't remember much, I did get a higher grade than my husband.

It took me MONTHS—almost a year—to finally get on these meds, and now that I've been on them for just over a month, I cannot begin to articulate how much my life has improved. My brain is so much quieter and I can focus on one task at a time. Just absolutely revelatory.

Sad to realize that the butternut squash sheeds I got from the seed program at the library were actually summer squash seeds. Don't get me wrong, I will gladly eat it, but I was looking forward to a nice fall harvest.

Just realized I could change the date range searched to before the AI-ification of the internet. The quality of the results immediately improved when I limited results to those published before 2024.

Another thing AI has ruined: Weavers love puns, so in the past I'd sometimes search for puns based on the theme of a design or an article, and I'd always find some really great ones, usually on delightful homemade websites with names like "Nancy's Sheep World." Now it's all just AI slop.

I have to take the ornery four year old to the dentist today and he is very much of the opinion that dentist = torture even though (1) the pediatric dentist he goes to is AMAZING and (2) he's seen the Daniel Tiger dentist episode many times. Will accept any prayers and chill child thoughts.

Took advantage of bookshop.orgs's sale last week to finally pick up this book (no pun intended). I have a million things to do this week so I'm going to give it to my husband to hide until the weekend when I'll reward myself by weaving something pretty. I mean just LOOK at those bands!
