There's been an increasing amount of NYPD vehicles on Central Park walking paths lately. It's beyond me why they think it's a good idea to "patrol" Bethesda Terrace by parking an SUV and idling. Or why they to drive on the paths to use the restroom at a playground.

You may not agree, but I think it’s time for Dems from coast to coast to run on Medicare for all. We do NOT need health insurance companies at all. Period. They serve no valuable societal purpose other than to add cost to healthcare and drive people crazy.

I’ve lived in New York for 24 years and have never been canvassed before these two nice men knocked on my apartment door this afternoon. The Zohran army is real, and the fact that Senators Schumer and Gillibrand are sitting on the sidelines is not going to end well for them.

The man in blue is biking on the wrong side of the two way bike lane. He doesn’t know this because @nyc-dot.bsky.social hasn’t changed the outdated markings on the ground, over three months after they moved all pedestrians to the other side of the Queensboro Bridge. Needlessly dangerous!

I passed a rare 20 mph street today in the Queens neighborhood of Corona. Advocates fought for 10 years to get Albany to give us the right to set our own speed limits, and one year later we’ve lowered it to 20 on just a handful of roads. Our next mayor should quickly roll this out in every hood.

34th Ave in Queens is just spectacular. 5 years ago this was 4 lanes dedicated to the moving and free storage of private vehicles. Now it’s a park that stretches more than a mile and connects multiple schools. And it’s a great bike connector from Astoria to Flushing Meadows.

The bike infrastructure in New York, New York casino is woefully inadequate. You can’t just put up a sign and call it a day. We need physically separated lanes in this food court. The casino mayor has been slow rolling the Greenwich protected bike lane for years. He has to go.

Even for a true congestion pricing believer like me, it's shocking how well it's working. It's earning $49 million a month for the subway while making our streets so much more pleasant (including for those who have to drive!) Win win win.

Two blocks north of the Congestion Relief Zone border. Anecdotally, there was zero Friday rush hour traffic on 9th Avenue again this week. Unheard of.

9th Ave on Friday afternoons typically looks like a parking lot as it’s the approach to the Lincoln Tunnel. It’s difficult to even cross the street as a pedestrian, w/total gridlock blocking every crosswalk. Not so on the first Fri evening rush of congestion pricing. Things are moving right along.

Rush hour traffic moving briskly on 8th Ave in Manhattan today as we close out the 1st congestion pricing work week. 3 years ago this was 6 lanes for moving and storing private vehicles + a bike lane. Now we have an expanded sidewalk, bike share dock, and a huge pedestrian island with bike parking.

Breaking: Area Man Makes Local News Twice In One Day. Still Hates Cars.

This morning I walked from 2nd Avenue to 11th Avenue along 60th street, looking for local news crews. Predictably there were a few that were sticking mics in car windows. I asked, “Hey, want to talk to a pedestrian as well?”

All you need is a yellow NYPD vest to park for free on 61st St and avoid the congestion charge.

L’industrie has almost no seating inside, and is a popular pizza place with a consistent line down the block. The loss of their outdoor dining would have been devastating. Instead of just letting the curb return to free private vehicle storage for two cars, they parked their own dining structure.

Bumper to bumper pedestrian traffic on 5th Avenue today. Pure insanity that the open street days were cut from 3 to 1 this year. At minimum it should be every Sat and Sun from Thanksgiving to Jan 1.
