Are you using AI, as a professional? Check your insurance cover, because a lot of the big insurers are about to pull out of insuring it. Which means that if you let it write your stuff or control your operations, you are potentially personally liable for its errors...

Honestly it made me a little emotional just how well executed of a vision it is - I kept thinking a good way to describe it is "evil Dr. Seuss" and apparently I'm very invested in the idea of someone even wanting to do that, going for it, and then absolutely sticking the landing.

I don't understand the scolds who are assigning any manner of political failures to people laughing about this? The "oh so you like him/are giving him brownie points now?" take is basically illiteracy

We're primarying John Fetterman. Last week, Fetterman again sold out working Pennsylvanians. He was the deciding vote for a Republican budget bill that will strip healthcare from over 400,000 Pennsylvanians. We deserve real working class leadership in the Senate, not a Trump-enabling Democrat.

For as specific as I am about the taste of everything else, I can't really discern coffee quality unless it's *really* pronounced So having Americanos all over the place whenever I travel feels very patrician

Absolutely over the moon that Nini Berndt's Split Lip story made it onto the Distinguished list in Best American Short Stories! I think this might be a first for our mag. A HUGE milestone. From the moment I read it in our queue, I knew WINGDINGS was very very special. I love it so.

I donโt know how many times Iโve watched this video. I donโt know how weโve gotten to the point where men in full balaclavas can abduct daycare teachers while theyโre watching children. But I do know that this isnโt sustainable. Abolish ICE. There is no way to reform this.

I've been thinking a lot lately about how so much federal (and corporate) policy is now about removing non-white people from just... daily life, and I'm glad to know white supremacists are just apoplectic tonight.

"The funding lapse threatens the food security of 11% of DEโs population...In fiscal year 2024, more than 66% of SNAP recipients in DE were families with children..." We've donated but I'm happy my former-mayor-now-governor did this. People deserve food.

Whenever I see an announcement about a literary choose-your-own-adventure book I think of my friend who was actively discouraged and shamed from doing that very thing in a workshop She never really wrote after graduation and I'm sure there are plenty other reasons for that but idk it makes me sad

Another thing about the AI face insertion - the idea would be that they know how well specific actors work in specific territories, so they'd bump up distribution projections. Hasselhoff in Germany kind of thing. ...but this actively degrades the effect, because it's just shipping basically a gif?
