I thought this same thing seeing the video this morning. I have friends who mentioned the same. We are all just civilians. How nobody in power sees this is absolutely beyond me at this point.

I shared this yesterday with a couple of folks and in a thread here, but figured I’d make a real post. I started drafting a novella in March as I moved into my new place. At the end of the month the draft was done. 33K words. Zero AI usage. Still needs revision, and may grow, but I feel good.

It's okay to have hope. It's okay to look at something and see what could be, as long as you're working towards that goal instead of pretending it's already here. Hope is a powerful weapon against fascism. Despair isn't more sober or more rational than hope is. It's just more defeatist.

Hello to the biggest headache I’ve had in months.

The very first book of poetry I bought myself was the Penguin edition of Early Poems by Robert Frost. I loved so many of them. His work has undeniably influenced me over the years. His pastoral themes, humanity, wonder, and sense of connection make me return and return. Now this for #PoetryMonth.

I’m not scared, & refuse to be afraid when there’s so much love if you look for it/open yourself to it. Support your trans friends & creators!

If you're defending Kagan and Sotomayor signing onto THIS opinion from Gorsuch and not queer and trans people who will be harmed by it, you're not a particularly good ally. This reasoning undermines ALL science education ON EVERYTHING.

The world is a mess. And here I am, settling. Calming down. Scott’s voice and words from the past carrying forward. Seeing it all. The darkness. The glow within. And he might be gone, but the momentum of the music isn’t. And that’s important.

My adoptive mom would have been 81 today. And she also would have hated me. This is the fist year since her passing that I haven’t called my adoptive dad. Because he also hates me. Anyway, feeling big things today. Still learning to feel good about myself. But I’m here.
