Morphine was an awesome band. I had tickets to see them in concert, and Mark Sandman passed away before I could see them live.

Morphine - Cure for Pain I played in a band in university that had a sax player. We were going for a sound we couldn't quite pin down somewhere between alt-rock, groove, and cool jazz. We were okay at what we did. Morphine did it better.

As a Boston-area ticket-holder to their upcoming show, I am grateful that the surviving members are keeping Mark Sandman's legacy and memory alive. Within the hyper-local Boston scene he loomed large as a friend & mentor to many, many people. Plus, "Cure For Pain" is a top-10 all timer album for me.
