1. Training of #hcps People with #ME/CFS and #longcovid I need your thoughts and ideas please. I would like to develop simulation training for all #hcps. We now use a lot of simulation which means that we can simulate severe #ME and #longcovid in a hospital setting.

I saw a patient last week with ME who in 2023 was told by the MECFS service to ‘get back to the gym’. She did 20 minutes, collapsed and hasn’t walked since. The advice is still out there, still wrong and the harm is real.

I wish people would stop correlating chronic illness severity with amount of assistance given. There’s almost no correlation. We simply do not have adequate social supports to help the disabled. If you decline & can no longer care for yourself… help doesn’t magically appear.
