France & Britain were ready to fight Hitler in 1936-38. We had Biplanes.... Britain got the Hurricane going into sevice [1937] and then the Spitfire [1938]. Even in 1939-40 we lost the ground war in France & most of our army equipment. During this period apeasment was not the worst policy ever.
