To elaborate: Conservatism as a project is to resist change. It stems from an attempt to maintain the monarchy wayyy back in the day. But in a democracy, you need to convince 50%+1 of the population that consolidating power in the hands of the few and surrendering your own individual power is ideal.

Iâm so tired of these takes. We have known for more than 10 years that Trump is an ignorant and unintelligent grifter. Heâs obsessed with his ego and convinced he wins in all things. This isnât news and honestly feels too late.

Trump doesnât fundamentally understand anything. He has no interest in learning. I argue he isnât - and never was - a good businessman because I donât think he understands business. He stands in front of important people, tells them they want to be a part of what heâs doing, and takes their money.

Right out of the MAGA playbook: if data was on their side, theyâd be using it. Just like tariff math, just like ICE abductions, just like Epstein, just like affordability.

The precogs stir in their chamber. I look up at the screen: a vision of me gripping my sides in pain as I clearly poop in my pants while the girl I had a crush on in high school looks on and laughs at me. âIs this a minority report?â I ask âNooooooâ Agatha says as she drifts back underwaterâŚ

even calling daylight savings time a bipartisan issue suggests it's partisan at all, yet it may be one of the only government policies that doesn't have any arguable affiliation with a political party. it's simply Bad on its own, with no meaning or purpose in society's current structure

we bag on the boomers a lot, but they dealt with their mid-life crisis in a good and normal way (buying a red sports car and having an affair with their secretary) whereas Gen X is all "maybe this next genocide will finally make them bring back the square spongebread cafeteria pizza"

SC Justice Alito shouted "you lie" at Obama. Marjorie Taylor Greene yelled "liar" at Biden. Boebert and MTG heckled Biden in 2023. Did we all just forget the past disrespect shown by Republicans? And Dems didn't stand? Fuck this fucking guy.

I have found that Costco is often a good deal, and the only reason I don't buy EVERYTHING there is because I can often get an equal or better deal using my wife's employee discount at the store where she works. The savings I've gotten by buying gas alone pays for the membership.

yes, the wheels of justice are slow. agonizingly, excruciatingly slow. and oftentimes they miss or go off the tracks entirely. in fact most of the time. but occasionally, very infrequently, that big wheel of justice delivers theoretical remuneration for a handful of vested business interests
