The thing with ID cards is that the argument over whether or not we should have them is largely academic. There is no way that public sector procurement is capable of carrying this through effectively, and the cost will be enormous - money we don't have - so it all seems a bit pointless.

It’s quite do-able from a legal perspective. I don’t think dismissing Reform in this way is wise. Voters need to understand that this stuff can happen if they vote for it - and that it would be morally, socially, culturally, economically disastrous. So they shouldn’t vote for it.

This EHRC guidance is designed to push trans people out of public life, making it nearly impossible for them to leave their homes. And this onslaught doesn't just hurt our trans siblings. Cis women who don't conform to gender stereotypes are already under attack too. UK Ministers must reject it.

Remember that the root problem is not that people are fascist, or racist, or sexist, or any other "ist" - it's that they are uninformed, misinformed, misled, and lied to, and too many don't have the wherewithal to work out they have been had, and the rest follows on from that. Go for the cause.
