I've been anxious of layoffs since this time last year. Our teams were being pushed far past our limits, but we kept delivering. Apparently we weren't doing enough. I guess. I'm devastated. I *loved* the work I did.

Epic Games is giving laid-off staff at least four months of severance, which is significantly above average for a US company. During normal times, that'd be a healthy cushion. But in this climate for the video-game industry it can take *at least* a year for someone to find full-time work
