Looking at this a bit more closely, this guy won PRECISELY BECAUSE he raised the "salience" of immigration via attacking ICE raids, and this won by a sizable margin in one of the most important swing counties of all, Bucks County in Pennsylvania.

In this latest discourse of political violence, I encourage us to not forget attacks like those in El Paso in 2019. That attack was entirely political and driven by dangerous narratives against immigrants that are more prevalent today. And El Paso is far from alone against similar attacks.

The Supreme Court clearly believes that lower courts will act to block the birthright citizenship EO through other means (including class actions) in the next 30 days, and therefore feels like it's okay partially staying these injunctions. But man, they are playing with fire.
