The issue is the motivation & incentives in the NHS run in direct opposition to patient safety. Doctors are routinely asked & expected to practice unsafely. The unsafe scope & unsafe supervision of PAs is part of that problem. PAs don't make financial sense w/ the supervision model needed.

Just a reminder: All vaccines used in public health have been rigorously tested. Their benefits greatly outweigh their risks. While a few people have a medical reason for not taking vaccines, most people (and the population overall) will benefit. Doctors who claim otherwise are irresponsible.

We're concerned to hear East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is imposing significant changes to study leave, breaching contractual requirements. This is a short-sighted decision which is against its publicly stated values and its status as a teaching hospital. Our team is raising the issue locally.

Another reminder: Respiratory infections spread mainly through the air. That’s why they affect the lungs. Masks, worn correctly and consistently, reduce the spread of respiratory infections. Respirators work better than masks. Washing hands isn’t wrong, but it won’t stop airborne transmission.
