People are commenting about how this is about "powerful" men, but in a society that listens to men over women and girls, that treats the former as competent and credible, the latter as not, every man is empowered to abuse, and it happens at all levels and in all sectors of society.

i am just sobbing for Dolores Huerta. there are so many stories like this from women in the civil rights movement, from AIM, from the Black Panthers, and now from UFW, and it is so brave of her to come forward and share something so painful.

“It’s an unsustainable business model to pay kids tens of millions of dollars.” That’s right, much better for that money to go to the coaches and recently fired coaches and artificially swollen administrative staffs.
