Daniel Levy saying “we need to compete on all fronts” and “we want to win the Premier League and Champions League” should be believed about as much as me saying I’ll fix something around the house or start working out. It’s all pantomime.

Tottenham Hotspur: Wins Europa League final. Jettisons longtime board members. Loses valued assistant coach. Might sack manager. Poor as shit. Manchester United: Loses Europa League. Immediately backs manager with high impact signings. Make it make sense.

The amazing thing about our cup run is that you can make a case for every single player contributing something important, either directly or indirectly. Some examples, latest contribution listed. Going from memory, sorry if I missed something.

Tottenham's Europa League-winning head coach Ange Postecoglou has said he did not feel "the faith and trust" of everybody at the club after deciding to prioritise the competition at the end of January.

Piece on Postecoglou’s future and the decision facing Daniel Levy. Question is whether the chairman, who has said he wants to win as much as fan, could really sack the coach who ended Spurs’ 17-year trophy drought?

The power of the narrative will be extremely strong tomorrow night. The footballing gods and everyone else will be willing the fairytale story to happen. It’s the biggest game in their history and it’s at their notoriously tricky home ground. Make no mistake. This is a VERY difficult fixture.

I think Ange should play the academy kids and take the fine against West Gammon United bc there’s no way they won’t try to seriously injury our senior players in between legs of a European semi final.

Goal - Saltnes, 3-1. Bodo have a foothold in the tie now, Saltnes wriggling free in the box and firing in a shot which deflected off Bentancur. That changes things...

Hopefully Madders and Dom were just precautionary substitutions rather than anything serious. Deki, who is still working his way to fitness, never had the same control in the no10 role. Their goal came from a fortunate deflection but we beat Frankfurt away so there's no reason to fear B/G.

As soon as Maddison went off we stopped being able to manage the game. Kulusevski really shouldn’t play in the middle.

So Bergval out for the season with an ankle injury. Do we play both Maddison and Kulu or does Sarr come in? Kinda feel sarr wouid work better next week when we have less of the ball.

Harry Kane felt standards at Spurs had slipped from the Pochettino era in his final seasons at the club — but they feel so much further from that benchmark now. A piece from Anfield after another defeat:

The excusing of some of the results & simply pointing at injuries is baffling. Could we have a better built squad? Hell yeah. But even if Romero & VDV had missed the *entire* season we should still expect better than *this* with the players we have. Extraordinary coaching underperformance.

You can't keep a bad manager just because you can't keep sacking managers. Recognising your mistakes is fine, but if you keep making the same mistakes then it's time for you to change.

Really struggle to understand the denial on Bluesky re Ange. It’s so clear to 90% of fans he and his coaching staff aren’t up to the job. Injuries aside his tactics are so poor, unbelievably naive and utterly clueless for this level. We’re in desperate need of PL experience for next season.
