I think Porro was the canary in the coal mine this season - Frank had this cultured passer punting balls up the line for Kudus and co, De Zerbi immediately has him stepping inside and playing one and two touch passes. He’s a quality player who has been made to look like a clogger.

A vaguely competent winger on the pitch and that scoreline is totally different. Created so many appetising 1v1 situations. Exciting.

In all seriousness, tonight's performance was kind of what I expected Thomas Frank to deliver consistently for us. I am an idiot. (I'll expand more on the pod tomorrow.)

Re Olusesi, I don’t know if you noticed but he was giving out to Dragusin for passing back to Vicario unnecessarily. Not sure if it’s that he’s not had the confidence hit of the others or that he’s just more technically assured but he was able to pass forward in moments our other CMs go backwards.

Gunter, Rowswell and Olusesi are the only youth players that have been added to List B for tonight. That means we have 21 fit and available players of the 23 allowed. There is the possibility of us naming four goalkeepers in the matchday squad. I think that might be a club first if it happens.

This was very much a 20:20 hindsight thought, I admit, but as soon as VDV was sent off last night I did think to myself why have we given the captaincy to a player who is quite obviously leaving at the end of the season either way, and will just walk away from whatever this is.

Also really open to Gray in midfield. Think he has been one of few players who has stood up to be counted in recent weeks. Doesn't quite offer the level of Gallagher's midfield box arrivals but he can do it.

Same applies for the next game - Danso immediately came on and looked more assured. Think his inclusion is a game-changer for us. I'd be looking at: Vicario; Palhinha, Danso, Van de Ven; Porro, Bissouma, Gallagher, Spence; Simons; Solanke, Richarlison (Tel impact sub)

I think with Porro, Danso and Solanke back we’ll get 4-6 points from our next two matches. Have I lost my mind?
