Matt Taibbi incessantly posting about his *very serious and not frivolous* lawsuit against @eoinhiggins.bsky.social over art on his book cover should tell you how nonsense his claims are. If he had a good lawyer and a real case, he’d know its “shut the hell up” o’clock until the matter resolves.

You would believe from reading this Matt Taibbi tweet that @eoinhiggins.bsky.social’s book is about him or that it names him on the cover. No. The book spends more time on Glenn Greenwald. The cover suggests a general phenomenon in our culture — that everyone online has seen.

I'm going to be real and admit I missed Owned being released, which is weird, it's totally my genre. But now that I know Matt Taibbi is so mad about the book that he filed a frivolous lawsuit over it, I did the only rational thing and bought a copy.

Guys who claim to be "free speech absolutists" suing for defamation. Keeps happening. Read the complaint. It's ridiculously weak. Doesn't even attempt to show actual malice. Repeatedly cites opinion statements as if they're factual. Censorial bullshit from Taibbi.

Eoin wrote a great book, the core of which is that these supposed Brave Truth-Teller post-left guys don't actually care about free speech whatsoever, which makes a suit like this pretty darkly ironic. Eoin's book and his newsletter deserve your support.
