Amazing, I wonder how many people are now sprinting back to some of their old data sets of small particles that they could never successfully process.. err, i have to go πββοΈπ¨

Yes great, new grid boxes that have no space to write on. With lids that no standard tool can open. π

My UBR4, despite being very active, always looked like garbage on the grids. Need to dig in here to find the secret sauce! Congrats to

Structural ubiquitin contributes to K48 linkage-specificity of the HECT ligase Tom1
Homologous to E6AP C-Terminus (HECT) ubiquitin ligases play key roles in essential pathways such as DNA repair, cell cycle control or protein quality control. Tom1 is one of five HECT ubiquitin E3 lig...

Over 4 years in the making, I am extremely happy to share our pre-print on the βIn-cell structure and snapshots of copia retrotransposons in intact tissueβ. We used cryo-ET to resolve the copia capsid structure to subnanometer resolution inside cells:

Read tomorrow's Nature to find out what we think 7 years of solving #cryoEM structures of brain-derived #amyloids has taught us about neurodegeneration, and where to go from here. With Michel Goedert and Ben Ryskeldi-Falcon, and very grateful to present and past group members.
