In Miami Beach I stayed at The Beach Park Hotel, which is almost 100 years old and definitely felt haunted. I had a great time though and they even gave me a discount because the elevator was out.

Several of the restaurants and hotels on Ocean Drive in Miami Beach had these classic cars permanently parked outside for aesthetic purposes. I assume they have a deal with the meter maids because they never get towed or ticketed.

South Beach definitely wins the award most photogenic lifeguard towers.

I’ve never seen a cruise ship up close before and watching them leaving out of the Port of Miami made me realize just how massive they were.

One of my favorite quotes is from Warren Zevon: “Enjoy every sandwich.” At Alma Cubana I had their Cuban sandwich and it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. So much so that I went back again before I left Miami Beach. Unforgettable.

Was able to catch two sunrises over the ocean while I was in Miami Beach. Not usually a morning person but I’ll always get up for that.

I saw several Portuguese man o’ wars on the beach. Luckily, a guy with a metal detector told me their sting is very painful before I attempted to rescue them. They are very beautiful, though. Hopefully they made it back in the water somehow.
