New York City is the most perfectly "American" place in the nation, just one wave of newcomers after another, gradually building up the culture, one remarkable cultural collision after another. MAGA chuds hate NYC not because it's awful but because it disproves every lie they tell about immigration

Insane self-blinding of the US. They are throwing away their investment in the ocean observation system and the benefits it provides. The only explanation I can think of: they don’t want the people to know what their fossil emissions are doing to our oceans.

Mamdani's NYC: 1st Ave has traffic lights synched with cycling (= legal car) speeds. NYPD no longer just ignores 311 pings about illegally parked cars. No more parked cars within 20ft of Lafayette & Bleecker intersection. … Improving NYC, one tiny, logical step at a time. Thanks,

while back, real bike lanes were proposed in a Denver n'hood and locals who liked it showed up for meetings. We were all acutely aware that we could show up consistently, but if city gov had one meeting dominated by haters, that'd be the one they'd present as definitive and shelve the whole thing.

We're used to conservatives claiming people protesting ICE (and getting gassed and beaten and killed for it) are violent mobs. Now HERE's a REAL violent mob - sicced on brown people by Hitler-saluting Elon Musk - and they've been downgraded by the Prestige Press to "protestors." It's too obvious.
