Just saw an ad for a vibe coding platform where the person didn’t know how to code and built and app, and immediately started making money. Yeah, good luck supporting that shit.

This sounds like some strange evolution of Marvin from the Hitchhiker's guide, who now has even more mental issues.

I just want someone to take them by the hand, look deep into their eyes, & whisper "Nobody is stealing your fun. You can still play your favorite game with your friends just like always. Shhh. It's ok. It's oookay. Those people are playing other games in other places, far away from you."

I feel like writing UI tests is one of the best uses of AI in my current dev workflow. Especially ifou already have some tests, you can just tell it to look at existing tests for examples, and then describe the UI interactions you wanna test, and the results are surprisingly good!

I feel like what's missing from services like google maps is data about what products shops offer. I'd love to be able to do a query like: Find me all shops within radius X that are guaranteed to stock product Y. Bonus points if I can sort by time on public transport to get there.

it shoudl be illegal to have a customer support chat that doesn't make noise when an agent finally shows up and you're in another tab. We're wasting everyone's time now, the agent waiting for me, me having to start ANOTHER support convo.

With postal services struggling to deliver packages on time during the holidays, I kinda wouldn't mind if they just had mandatory pickup points for everyone, so they could just deliver them in bulk within a town/city. Just make sure the pick up points are reachable by public transport.

There has literally never been a universal basic income trial program that didn't deliver real and measurable results above and beyond any other form of social welfare, and every time another concludes with the same findings the powers that be go "interesting! Anyway," and pretend it wouldn't work.

People endlessly argue over what biannual and biweekly mean, and honestly, I think we should just erase these words from the English language. Just say "twice a week/year" or "every two weeks/years" and be done with it.

Just discovered that instead of searching for a place in Google maps, then clicking directions, picking my origin, picking walking, I can just type "walking directions from ABC to XYZ" into the search bar. Feels so much quicker!

Googling for anything WCAG (accessibility guidelines) related is annoying AF. I just want to know what changed between certain versions of the spec, and all I'm getting are sites trying to sell me their accessibility checkers.

Hot take: I think parameter labels in programming languages are underrated. It's where you include the name of the parameters when calling a function. (keyword arguments in Python parlance)

~3 years ago, as part of a trip with the American Coaster Enthousiasts, I had the pleasure of getting a backstage tour of Rutschebanen at Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen. We got to climb the lift hill, and then go inside the garage where they store and work on the trains.

, hoe gaat het eigenlijk met de jeugdzorg in Nederland? Alles lekker daar? Of was het toch belangrijker om de rijkste Nederlanders 8% rijker te maken dan om te investeren in toekomstige generaties?

Paulton's Park is building a new viking-themed area, and I love all the progress updates they're sharing. I'd love to take a little trip to the UK either next year or in '27, also to catch Gold Rush at Drayton Manor, which I missed by a month last year.

Okay, for the folks who asked: here's the majority AI view, writing up the reasonable, thoughtful view on AI that the vast majority of people in tech hold, that gets overshadowed by the bluster and hype of the tycoons trying to shill their nonsense.
