Any storytime providers worth their salt knows this, and will not have unrealistic expectations of your child. They will be gentle and encouraging. If they suggest you step out and return later, it’s not to shame you, but because they know your kid needs a break. It’s okay. Totally normal.

Don’t wait until you think your kid is “ready” to attend storytime. The only way to get ready is by attending. Learning to sit still, participate, and pay attention are all skills that have to be developed. Maybe you don’t stay the whole time, maybe you work up to it. But it gets easier. #storytime

Today it was how to help a 5-year-old retain letter sounds to help with learning phonics &, ultimately, learning to read
