Some important info on Kaleb Horton and his writing for MTV: as I learned, he'd reupped the Merle piece on his site earlier this year, but otherwise his 2016-2017 work there was scrubbed and long unavailable. Happily, I was able to find a Wayback link with them all. Share, read, and remember.

Great piece. What I’d give to hear the Eno/Lanois work with Walker. Only the Thames knows. Though hard to think of anyone less suited to Walker’s uncompromising vision than Lanois.

danny wasn’t just wildly talented with one of the most recognisable double bass tones ever produced; he had a wonderfully disarming sense of humor, a dominant voice that loved sharing a good story of which he had countless. no airs, all round good fella. missed.

The bassist, who has died aged 86, was an extraordinary and wildly versatile presence in British music, bringing his personality into everything he played

To quote Marisa, the wife of

, in her post: "the most meaningful way to honour Keith is to keep playing his music, sharing your memories, and supporting the causes he cared about." In this thread, please find a series of links that will allow you to do just that. Please share widely:

Great interview and a brilliant album. It would make a great pairing with King Creosote/Jon Hopkin’s ‘Diamond Mine’.
