The Railway Children is on again. Watched it so many times I know every beat, but I still well up when Iain Cuthbertson appears out of the steam.

Great piece. What I’d give to hear the Eno/Lanois work with Walker. Only the Thames knows. Though hard to think of anyone less suited to Walker’s uncompromising vision than Lanois.

RIP Danny Thompson. Bedrock of so many records I love; Nick Drake, Kate Bush, David Sylvian, John Martyn, Talk Talk etc etc. What a legacy.

Released 40 years ago today. I can’t remember if I bought it that day, but was certainly the first week. Living with it ever since and still astonishes.
