Have started to tidy up the early 1974 Young Punctum entries and how can anybody say it was a dull year with nothing going on? If I'd been ten years older I'd never have been out of the record shop and I'd have had to get a job selling books in Blackwells to supplement my student grant.

Still seeing shouty all-capitalised protests, a.k.a. moans, from social inadequates or possibly bots. Take it to The Other Place would be my standard retort but increasingly it seems that social media largely attracts people of that ilk, regardless of its location or ownership.

Looking at the New Statesman website and one of this week's features is entitled "Why you hate Keir Starmer." Didn't hate him two years ago, did you, NS? Oh no, it was all "adults back in the room" slavering. If by "you" they mean us, nice to know they don't require our custom.

Both Guardian and Observer reviews of the new Mandy, Indiana album - and this is a really major album, btw - are dully and deadly descriptive when they should be exploding with fury, irrationality and ecstasy. Oh I forgot, that puts off Gareth Centrist-Reader who hasn't bought an album since 1986.

Put the actual radio back on because I was sick of internet radio automatically cutting out for energy (i.e. money)-saving reasons when I was doing things. Look, computer, you're not a Tamagotchi pet demanding all my attention all the time or you'll die. I have a life. You're not THAT important.
