Fortunately it’s had 3 coats of Lanoguard in my ownership so I’m trusting that it’s not dissolving quite yet. But yes, it looks outstanding when it’s filthy. Photo from 2 years ago when I was daily driving it to see mum in hospital.

Not usually one to brag about my presents, but thought this gorgeous pendant from Whitby's Ebor Jetworks was worth sharing. I love the way they combine the fossilised wood of jet with ultra modern, manmade materials - in this case Detroit agate.

We lived in a pub when I was growing up and when I was 3 (50 years ago!) we had someone in to draw the pub for a business card. I sat next to him and watched him draw every line. I was transfixed and it was a huge inspiration for me. I’ve dreamt about owning that drawing for years…

That columnist reminds me of my idea for doing list features like "10 cars you've never heard of!" and filling it with Porsche 911s and Fiestas and Golfs and writing as if the author has only just discovered them. Or "Did you know the French made cars?", that kind of thing.
