An opposition party would not be on vacation right now. They would have coordinated message to the public about the fact that a President in cognitive decline is threatening more war crimes. They would be BLASTING the message on all available platforms.

🚨 THIS JUST IN: With over 100 protests still to come, we can already estimate that at least 8 million people participated in No Kings protests today. That makes No Kings 3 the largest single day of protest in American history.

last week a plainclothes policeman violently assaulted children who were staging a walkout to protest ICE and i keep seeing people say "well these kids just wanted to skip class" and as an organizer i wanna remind us that people come to movements from self-interest and that's not a bad thing

feels notable because the center-left Dem so often whines about it when they lose to a progressive, I appreciate that Malinowski despite the conditions of the race is throwing support behind Mejia in the same way progressives who lose are without fail expected to fall in line behind a centrist

it'll be interesting to see the tarrant county exit polls but there's something icky about Pundit Class immediately jumping to "texas +30 for dems!!!", as if the electorate is an inanimate mass that sways from one side of the imaginary left-right spectrum to the other

This is physically unsustainable for all life on earth. The plans for data centers - if they succeed - guarantee that we burn the world down and blow every climate tipping point. The fierce debate here is not just about "speed" but about who gets to decide and how we plan the entire economy.

I’m the one in the brown hat. What you might not see is the victim in the car. His feet are pointing out the open car door. An agent is sitting on one of his legs. He’s only wearing crocs. Bystanders found his legal work visa in his abandoned car.

i don't understand the 2016 meme. you wish to return to 2016? the year we all died and went to hell? the year the fabric of reality tore, revealing the terrible void beneath? the year of our spiral into despair and nothingness? the year of the angry birds movie?

If your bar for success is "stopping a superpower led by fascists" then you're only setting yourself up to fail. It's a form of doomerism. Instead set the bar at "how can I get 2 of my friends involved to do 1 positive thing together". We win because there's many of us, each playing a small part.
