More than 85 scientists say that a recent U.S. Department of Energy report is full of errors and misrepresents climate science.

Scrapping DOE's Earth system model would be a disaster for climate science, also abroad. The Norwegian Earth system model has a similar origin and we use the same vegetation module. This will set us back years, unless we pick up the pace here in Europe.

Planting trees is not the solution to the climate crisis, because there are so many ways in which it can be done wrong. The adequate solution is (surprise, surprise) to reduce fossil fuel emissions.

Our comment on the DOE CWG report is done. It tips the scales at 439 pages, approx. 3x longer than the DOE report. This is related to Brandolini's law: The amount of energy needed to refute bullshit is an order of magnitude bigger than that needed to produce it. Example: refuting one sentence.
