I was really hoping for Last Holiday, but I can’t be disappointed in that final and also this wonderful result! Fire Island is a lovely film and a very worthy finalist and now winner. What a year for the romcom battle royale this was!

It is so close right now! I'm going to say it: Vote for Fire Island, an amazing version of Pride & Prejudice. Last Holiday has the LI off-screen for AT LEAST a third of the movie! Imagine if that happened in a romance novel. Just...no guy. What a fun movie though. So glad I watched it.

I was a Paramount intern when Last Holiday came out. I did 8 pre-release screenings in two weeks and still loved this movie at the end of it.

"Last Holiday" is one of my favorite movies because it's a woman falling in love with living, and then she has a good-for-her romance, too, but it's the loving life first that gets me. Also, it's delightful and funny, the cast is perfect, and Queen Latifah is luminescent.

If nothing else, it’s beautiful that a film about queer love and a film about a Black love are the final two! I do love and adore Fire Island, though, so that gets my vote.

I like Fire Island very much but I have loved Queen Latifah since before I knew why, and I will love her forever.

Gotta give this one to Fire Island, as much as I love Last Holiday. Fire Island too very familiar, frequently adapted source material (Pride & Prejudice) & made it new & fresh & modern. The whole cast is delightful & it'll make you laugh & cry in equal measure.

This is such a solid match up and I love both choices. (I'm probably going with Last Holiday because it's a longtime favorite of mine, but Fire Island is a newer fave that is a solid retelling.)
