Kolkata humidity is truly the worst thing I have ever experienced or imagined. Every week I talk to my cousin and it’s not the temperature bc, my NorCal temps are actually higher than her Kolkata temps but ours is a dry heat. The humidity drains every ounce of energy out of you.

Finally got my first 5 star read of the month. This book wrecked me. I can count on one hand the number of books that make me cry actual tears but this one managed it. It's a love story, not a romance, but I read it in 2 days, that's how gripping it was and boy did it absolutely destroy me.

Mother’s Day is an emotional landmine for me since my mom passed away so I was already not looking forward to this weekend but for reasons I don’t care to go into, it’s turning into an even bigger hellscape. I’d like for this month to be over. Yes, I realize we’re not even 1/4 of the way through.

Reading a romantic suspense and the FMC is searching for a missing woman she thinks is dead, so the potentially dead woman’s name is mentioned a lot and her name is Melanie which is kind of a mindfuck.

Cara Bastone is a hit or miss author for me but I really enjoyed this gorgeous marriage in trouble romance between Roz and Vin, both reeling after a traumatic accident left them with a lot of scars, physical and emotional. This one packed a real gut punch and I highly recommend the audio book.

I do feel sorry for travelers who are stranded without recourse but also, this did make me cackle.

For the past 3 years, I’ve had hoopla access through the Stark library in Ohio. As of today, my hoopla access is gone bc they longer allow out of state residents access due to budget cuts. I have limited access to it via a local library system but much of the catalogue is now unavailable to me.
