Okazaki had in fact already designed the Watchtower-class space station that would become Starbase 47, aka Vanguard. Later he was even credited as a "Technical Consultant" on the remastered Original Series for its use in "The Ultimate Computer". A 24th C. version also appeared in Lower Decks. /2
