Well I did it I decided to print the Ares. My infamous design looks good. I’m sad that it has so much baggage associated with it. This was printed from the filming mesh that was sent to me years ago from another ex-member of the production. If I paint it it will be in TOS styling.

Played some skyrim to unwind Went swimming to catch some fish for alchemy, discovered a stag grazing on the bottom of the lake.

Mildly interesting to compare the top of the Empire Strikes Back AT-ST with these blueprints of the top of the full-size Return ofthe Jedi version. They are very close, but one detail that is nicer in RotJ is that the hatch is a little further back, cutting a recessed curve into the block behind it.

One thing I love about the TNG LCARS is that there seems to be texture to the shapes. Look up close and its not a single block of colour - it has variance. This all comes from it being made from lighting gels glued to plexi, and lit from behind.
