Finished up the Vulture MK3 to my liking. My initial reaction to a 60t mech with 4 Lrm20s have slightly subsided after I learned the thing only carries 6 volleys for each of them. Clanners still struggling with logistics, apparently. #battletech #vulture

Today I learned that the intro from Mechwarrior 4: Vengeance does not feature a Vulture, just a very vulture-looking Avatar. And I have to say, I do prefer this look compared to the TRO-drawing. Anyways, it's too hot to draw here, so have a wip. #battletech #avatar

Tried out printing some of my Lancer maps and run into the problem that my usual 40x40 hex maps work on a screen, but not so much printed. So I tweaked this testrun for knifefight distance, which works well enough, now my problem is that I have to retool the encounters for cuddly-close maneuvers.

Looked up how to do skyboxes in Godot. My usual pipeline for cubemaps worked, but I had to convert it to a panorama image. Now I just need to build a proper megastructure skybox and not just cobble some tiles together. Found a neat tool for panorama conversion here: danilw.github.io/GLSL-howto/c...

Frankensteined a rudimentary aiming system together, extremely janky and just me testing things out. Needs to be redone completely. Oh, also, shooting stuff. #godot #mecha

So, while I have been watching too many Godot tutorials about aiming and weapon firing mechanics, I made a mecha chicken. I mean, this is basically just a turret on legs, this should be easier on me than a fully articulated mech. I hope. #mecha #godot

So the whole IK thing in Godot took me some time to implement in a working order. Influence curves are still not optimal and movement looks a bit choppy, but at least the basics are working. Still all very muchly work in progress, but hey, at least there's progress. #mecha #godot

Finally got the feet to work on slopes and steps in Godot. Don't ask me why the right foot at first did not respond in any way while the left foot worked perfectly, even though the setup was completely symmetrical. Just have to finetune the influence curves now so it's less choppy. #godot

Played classic Battletech with some of my buddies online yesterday. I have to say, even with modern apps like Mekbay to help, it was a bit of a slog. A nostalgic slog, but I think my expectations may have been rewired too much by Lancer. One would expect three hours to be enough to finish a fight?

Yup, can confirm that I like my new markers and fineliners. Don't mind the non-existing composition here, it just started with a scribble in the middle and I just wanted to fill the page.

Did not quite manage to fill the final pages of my sketchbook last year, but getting there. Trying out the new markers feels good, at least. Compared to everything else happening right now, anyways.
