I really like cycling as a hobby, because it lets me push and challenge myself while also getting stomped so badly by stronger cyclists that I know I'll never come close to actually being competitive at it. How freeing is that?

Every time I jump back on social media I'm reminded why I don't get on social media. The world is dark and I live in a country ruled over by terrible people.

This man ripped off teachers, nurses, small business owners - people from all walks of life and professions. Some lost their life savings. Not only did Trump let him out of prison, he also doesn’t have to pay back the victims.

The boats the regime is claiming are going from Venezuela to the US would need to refuel over 20 times to get to Miami. They are lying to us.

In response to this claim that the "strategy didn't work." The people were on our side. We were building momentum to help save our democracy. We could have won - the premium increase notices were just starting. And giving in now will embolden him. Things will likely get worse.

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

According to the news, the Kirk shot was at least 100 yards away. It was a single shot. They don't have a weapon, they don't have a suspect. That type of aim and reaction to getting out of a stressful situation requires a lot of skill.

My main observation from the last few hours of monitoring US social media is that Democrats are universally denouncing political violence and calling for calm while MAGA are escalating language and openly lusting for retribution against broad categories of people they identity as their enemies.

I have somehow fallen down the algorithm rabbit hole of "sober YouTube," people talking about getting off of alcohol. I've never been a big drinker so it's staggering to me just how many people out there are dealing with alcoholism. And we just accept something that dangerous in our society.
