It remains unclear, but if Trump told MTG "my friends will get hurt" by the release of the Epstein files, that sounds a heck of a lot like he's protecting pedophiles and gives all the more reason for them to release the unredacted files (minus victims' names) so the truth may finally be known.

None of them have ever done any such thing. I think what they object to is that other white people have started talking publicly about how whiteness as a concept creates inequality, and they feel the social pressure that truth creates, which they experience exclusively in terms of blame management.

They aren’t really aware of the Epstein Files. You can tell them about something that’s in them and they’ll have forgotten all about it by the next day. It just doesn’t register as important to them. Political apathy / disengagement is a huge driver of what I’ve come to call “soft-MAGA”

I’m outright telling them they’re identical to MAGA now. They deny it and want to “change the subject”. But I’m not letting them run away from accountability anymore and they characterise this as me “having a breakdown” simply because I’m antiracist, I’m a feminist, im antifascist and antiwar.

And when confronted for their casual extremism; they try to paint any shred of accountability as “the real extremism” It didn’t used to be this bad but they’re not very resistant to obvious disinformation, and have gotten so much worse over time. I cracked it at them recently. Had enough.

I’ve grown disgusted with a few family members, who are not at all screeching MAGA supporters; but because they simply don’t pay any attention whatsoever to what’s going on. They claim to hate Trump but often voice ignorant views closely aligned with MAGA.

There could be videos of Trump raping and murdering minors by the dozen, and MAGA support would not even weaken. They just don't care. It's a cult. They are completely gone.
