Lately I’ve been in an indie team making stop-motion animation. It’s just 4 of us (animator, writer, voice actor, sound designer). The show’s called The Tiny Angry Witch. It’s all basically hand made. No AI. It’s tiring, but we love what we do. So, anyway, here’s a Witch making rude noises:

Been quiet on here as we’ve had a get together with my close family (not many of us left) as a wake for Dad. He’s having a direct cremation so there’s no formal service. I didn’t know how it would go but it was LOVELY. No-one made it sad, we enjoyed being together (which was very important to him)

Chatting with delightful funeral director about Dad’s cremation. We’d a few technical issues with sharing/signing documents online - eventually got these sorted. She gives a big sigh of relief and says “right, now we’re cooking on gas”.

Well, things do move quickly. He’s now so poorly from the constant seizures and little hope of recovery, the only thing to do now is sedate and keep him comfortable. No timescale but probably not long. Thanks to everyone who’s reached out with good wishes, they really mean a lot. (I’m fine 😘😘).

Thx for the good wishes, much appreciated 😘 Latest is, he’s deteriorated further, having regular and frequent seizures (he’s on IV anti-seizure meds now), on O2 and catheterised, not eating or drinking and uncommunicative. Consultants still stumped. (I’m fine, thx, just dumping into the universe x)

Last Tuesday Dad taken to A&E after a seizure. Still in Hosp, medics are stumped, rollercoastering between severe delirium (aggressive, agitated) and chirpy chap (but no clue where he is, who anyone is, what’s going on). Another seizure y’day, another CT scan (🤞 for some clues). *waits*

Marked contrast in today’s weather versus yesterday’s. The North Sea was being very North Sea-ish.

My advice on Mental Health Awareness Week would be to not listen to people who say “we all feel like this” and therefore downplay your feelings/concerns. Nobody other than you lives in your head. Speak to someone who knows what they’re doing & don’t listen to internet dickheads.

Difficult to get a photo without shops and cars and things in the background, but just LOOK at the work that’s gone into this!

The only crowds on the beach between Redcar and Saltburn today were birds.

Seeing loads of these and curious/amused by them: apparently they’re ‘devil’s toenails’ aka Clister Stones. Can’t say we’ve noticed them before. “Gryphaea, a genus of extinct, oyster-like marine bivalve molluscs that lived from the Triassic to the Cretaceous periods”. Every day is a school day 😁

Saltburn always has a lovely ‘old fashioned Victorian seaside town vibe’. Then the east coast light and big sky and low tide takes it to another level.
