Lots to say about the incredibly effective campaign of @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social - but this line from his speech tonight sums up a lot of the magic: “We won because we insisted that politics is no longer something that is done to us. Now it is something we do.”

One of Mamdani’s outstanding qualities is that he seems to be a genuinely nice, happy guy. Despite all the garbage being thrown at him, he and his supporters are staying positive and having a good time.

The Democratic wipeout in the House of Delegates was even more unexpected than the size of the Spanberger win. Dems are going to hold 63 or 64 out of the 100 seats in the chamber, with 12 or 13 flips. Absolute disaster for the state Republican Party.
