When I read the first FSS arc I thought it was building up some interesting dialogue with Sopp and Amaterasu and how anyone who "looks like" a woman, even if they're a known man, is subject to misogynistic treatment, and then the movie added exploitative scenes of Sopp and proved the manga's point

I'm not gonna act like FSS is some flawless feminist masterpiece, it was made by a man after all, and one who makes his fetishes clear, but he really punches above his weight for a mecha creator of that generation, and it's funny to see the movie just completely miss the point of everything
