Early YoYoGames was such a formative experience for me. As a kid I loved seeking out ambitious, bizarre, and obscure games. Everyone was working with the same tools, so there was a real sense of camaraderie and community. Finding a hidden gem- or even a friend- was a magical experience.

It really sucks that Microsoft sunk its claws into so much of the game industry and is attached to a ton of games I wanna play. What sucks even more is supporting genocide, which is something Microsoft loves doing. I’m very in favor of Microsoft fucking off until it stops loving genocide so much.

One reason video games need to reject AI is the risk of losing the joy of human touch in small art details. My favorite example is the fake video games from the Toy Story level in Kingdom Hearts 3, designed by real video game artists. You can tell they had fun making these.

Every time someone says they “only” use AI for references or composition it always ends up that the product is based off that. So I dunno who folks think they are fooling, like that suddenly makes it ok to use the automated theft machine cuz you added one more step.
