BEST WISHES TO ALL is a heartwarming holiday movie about a woman's visit to her grandparents' house. Once there, she adjusts to their sweetly quirky ways + meets a variety of charming if eccentric neighbors. Standout scenes include endearing reunion w her estranged aunt, where they bury the hatchet.

Today's holiday book rec is a older, but I picked it up in San Fran this year in a 2019 ed: CRUSH by Richard Siken, a beautiful, at times richly melancholy / ferocious poetry collection that was a finalist for the National Book Critics Award and the Thom Gunn Award for Gay Poetry. very easy to tell from Danielson or Moxley commentary that they really love wrestling. Danielson calls things naturally and effectively like a genuine sports analyst. Moxley has some of that but also his conversational sort of personality. these guys are great to listen to.

ooh right when Nigel has some momentum, cuts the lead to one fall, and has a target with the shoulder, Moriarty sneaks a cradle in to go up 3-1 and force Nigel into switching gears again based on the score. I LOVE the way this is unfolding and "laid out." This rules.

You can tell from Jon Moxley’s commentary that he isn’t a top star who’s only into his own stuff. He has a familiarity with the young ROH/AEW crew that shows that he’s invested in the entire roster, and it gives wrestlers like Lee Moriarty more cred that he’s in Mox’s orbit. #ROHFinalBattle

It was a crucial handful of months for guys like Samoa Joe and others to really become The People The Fans Wanted, and then you got to run with Joe on top as a killer and the company gelled from there.

Pretty happy that Xavier's legacy as an early ROH champion has evolved over time. He was a good placeholder, which sounds insulting but it isn't. He filled the role solidly and gave others, with higher ceilings tbh, time to grow into the guys a developing ROH faithful saw as the real top stars.

I love Eddie Kingston and I'll elaborate more in the Final Battle review coming up after the show, but at some point there needs to be some new thought put into how Kingston is presented. He's not the guy from 2020-21 anymore and it's creatively lazy to keep acting like he is.
